Rainbow on Broughty Ferry Beach

“And none shall be denied”

LGBT people often have a deep mistrust of organized religion that is rooted in long and difficult experience. Even those who have a religious faith may feel excluded or unwelcome.

As a gay man, I know this very well and will always try to celebrate all aspects of a person’s life with sensitivity and understanding.

Although I mainly work in Dundee and surrounding areas, I would be happy to consider working with gay, lesbian or transgender people in other parts of Scotland or even further afield – for example I worked with a man in Wales to plan ahead for his own funeral. I have also conducted Zoom funerals and memorials.

And the role of the celebrant can just be to help you write and deliver a eulogy or tribute. Contact me and I will try to help.

There is a useful guide called Making Informed Choices When Planning a Funeral – A Guide for Queer People by Ash Hayhurst.
